Hey, I’m Ashlie—the heart, soul, and camera behind Ashlie Ballou Photography. My favorite part of this job isn’t just taking photos (though I seriously love that), its making people smile and leaving a little piece of joy on their hearts that lasts long after the day is over.
Outside of photography, I’m a proud Canadian turned busy soccer mom of three. I love camping with my family on the Oregon Coast, sipping on a craft beer, spending late nights at the racetrack, and hunting down the next great arcade with the kids. My golden retriever, Goose, is basically my sidekick in all of the madness.
Meet my husband, Jesse—the world’s most underpaid (but most valuable) employee at Ashlie Ballou Photography. He isn't just the lead videographer and assistant photographer. He doubles as bouquet holder, train poofer, pose demonstrator—yes, we’ll happily act that pose out for you and your hunny—and assistant controlled chaos coordinator when the day inevitably calls for it. By day, he’s spent the last 15 years at Boeing, but outside of work you’ll find him woodworking, golfing, or catching up on all things sprint cars.

At Ashlie Ballou Photography, we believe your wedding photos should feel as real and unforgettable as the day itself. We love striking that perfect balance between beautifully posed portraits and candid, joy-filled moments. Yes, we’ll carve out a little intentional time to capture those “stop you in your tracks” portraits that belong on a canvas in your home—but we’re just as focused on the hugs, the laughter, the tears, and all the genuine interactions that make your wedding day unique.
We know no one wants to spend hours forced into stiff poses. You’ve invested so much into your day—you deserve to soak it all in without sacrificing gorgeous photos. That’s where we come in: think of us as your new velcro besties (or your personal paparazzi, if you will). Expect one or both of us close by most of the day—ready with cameras in hand, and maybe even water, snacks, or a celebratory sip if you need it.
When it comes to editing, we keep things bold and true-to-life with warm undertones. Bright whites, rich blacks, and colors that pop come together to create images that feel timeless, not trendy. Your gallery will be full of color, life, and emotion—the kind of photos that make you feel the day all over again, every time you look at them.
